Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) to oversee and ensure the safety of all personnel on our temporary solar project. The SSHO will be responsible for implementing and monitoring safety programs and procedures to maintain a safe work environment in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement site-specific safety plans and protocols in accordance with EM 385-1-1 and OSHA standards.
Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective measures.
Facilitate safety training sessions for all site personnel, ensuring understanding and compliance with safety practices.
Maintain clear and open lines of communication with project management and staff regarding safety issues and concerns.
Prepare and submit daily and weekly safety reports, documenting safety metrics, incidents, and corrective actions taken.
Coordinate and conduct incident investigations, root cause analyses, and develop preventive measures to avoid future occurrences.
Monitor compliance with all applicable safety regulations and standards, ensuring corrective actions are taken when necessary.
Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related inquiries and concerns on the project site.
Minimum Qualifications:
Current 40-Hour EM 385-1-1 certification.
Current First Aid/CPR certification.
OSHA 30 certification.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
OSHA 500 certification.
Previous experience in solar or renewable energy projects.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform fieldwork in varying environmental conditions.
Ability to lift up to 25lbs and stand and walk for extended periods.
