  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    The site services maintenance technician will support the site services team under the overall direction of capital projects by supporting shift operations, facility upkeep, and project activities. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills and a demonstrated ability to take on increasing responsibilities. This position will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of site facility systems and infrastructure, including HVAC, compressed air, plumbing, and dust collection systems, electrical work including but not limited to resetting breakers and motor wiring.

    • Ensure all work is conducted safely and complying by MSHA and OGC safety policies and regulation

    • Observes operating of installed equipment to detect hazards, problems, and the need for

    • Service, repair/replacement of mechanical components and necessary adjustments.

    • Understands and can trouble-shoot VFD drives, RTD temperature controllers, and other PLC/computer-based systems.

    • Assist the plant technical staff to implement projects and equipment upgrades for various types of process equipment.

    • Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment.

    • Manage and perform preventative maintenance on site facility equipment.

    • Coordinate and oversee contractors when professional repairs are necessary.

    • Update, track, service inspections and checks.

    • Track PM’s and scheduled maintenance

    • Support schedule changes to resolve conflicts among maintenance and daily operations activities.

    • Provide direction and leadership to peers to achieve goals through shift weekly meetings.

    • Able to develop and implement repair plans and PM programs to build effective maintenance programs through an CMMS system.

    • Other duties as reasonably required.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Proven maintenance experience.
    • Demonstrated skills of working with others with proven decision-making capability.
    • Able to work with and without direct supervision and direct others.
    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
    • Valid Drivers License .
    • Trade certificates preferred.
    • Strong math, CMMS, computer skills and some experience with automation systems.
    • Ability to work with hand tools and various shop equipment.
    • Good people skills and able to work through conflict to achieve desired results.
    • Ability to service machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.
    • High regard for safety standards. Experience with LOTO and other safety programs.
    • Experience with Furnaces and calibration equipment.
    • Experience with Facility Utility systems such as boilers, air compressors and HVAC.
    • Ability to operate and obtain a license for forklifts and scissor lifts.

    Physical Requirements:

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see.
    • Must be able to work shift work with 12-hour shifts.
    • Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the workday.
    • Work is in a surface mine plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity.
    • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
