Job Summary:
Works closely with Warehouse Supervisor to ensure efficient operation of the Receiving/Shipping Department. Responsible for picking, packing, and shipping daily orders, maintaining accurate records of shipping and receiving related transactions. Helps to process incoming goods, process orders, and maintain a high standard of packaging to properly represent the brand. Help maintain accurate inventory in the warehouse. Follows up with and maintains accurate data for the Warehouse Supervisor to be aware of activities and discrepancies.
Essential Functions:
- Folds and processes new and incoming goods.
- Records and reports shortages and discrepancies.
- Checks and records the quantity and quality of merchandise for conformity to purchase orders and specifications.
- Updates inventory.
- Processes returns, defectives, and exchanges.
- Assist in any receiving functions or processes.
- Verify that orders are correctly filled, and are shipping in a timely efficient manner.
- Frequently operate handheld scanning devices.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area at all times.
- Meet daily shipping quotas and deadlines.
- Fill product from pick lists quickly and with excellent accuracy.
- Determine appropriate packaging materials for product specifications.
- Package products for shipping to maintain a high standard for branding.
- Perform daily cleanup and housekeeping procedures.
- Learn and adapt to new systems and technology and software.
Minimum Requirements and Skills:
- Adequate work experience which will demonstrate the ability to perform requirements of the position.
- Computer literate and comfortable learning and using new software and technology, experience with barcode scanning and programs.
- Must have a good attitude and ability to work as a member of a team
- Must be self-motivated and able to work effectively under minimum supervision after learning all aspects of the position.
- Must be comfortable with asking questions and admitting to fault, error, or lack of knowledge when confused about performing new/harder tasks.
- Must have strong attention to detail.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, employees, vendors and buyers.
- Ability to read and comprehend department literature (i.e. sales order, pick lists, packing slips, purchase orders, etc.)
- Ability to perform basic mathematical functions.
- Excellent attendance and punctuality are required.
- Ability to perform repetitious work accurately.
- Ability to handle multiple activities or interruptions at once.
- Must have excellent skills in reading and comprehension of the English language.
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands and/or fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, operate office equipment, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, talk or hear, taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time.
- Sufficient manual dexterity.
Work Environment:
- General office and warehouse environment.
- The work is performed sitting at a desk and standing/walking around the office or warehouse.
- The pace is job-set, meaning the pace varies depending on the receiving activities and tasks.
