Job Description
JOB PURPOSE-
The Athlete Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the Director of Marketing in all athlete-related activity within the Sports Marketing Department.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES-
- In collaboration with the Director of Marketing, create a marketing, communication, and performance plan for each managed athlete.
- Ensure understanding of key product offerings is communicated to each managed athlete.
- Work with Strategic Partnerships team and Director of Marketing on athlete agreements and contracts – including performance expectations and goals, retainer, bonus, branding rights, availability, schedule, and usage rights.
- Responsible for owning, executing, and building on existing ambassador programs across Run, Golf and Pickleball.
- Conceptualize and execute innovative and “game-changing” athlete projects and initiatives that bring the athlete and brand personality to life.
- Leverage wholesale account partners to promote events, programs, and athletes.
- Working closely with Sports Marketing Team, build quarterly social media calendars for professional athletes surrounding key product launches and events.
- Update and manage all key Sports Marketing documents/assets on a regular basis
o Athlete Tournament/Race Schedules
o Athlete/Ambassador Footwear Shipment Tracking
o Athlete Appearance Schedules
· Manage the forecasting of promotional footwear and apparel on a quarterly basis.
o Monitor inventory levels and depletion of inventory.
- Liaising with other internal departments, such as Product, Retail, Visual Merchandising, Graphics, Advertising, and PR.
- Develop and maintain best in class relationships for Skechers with key Sports Marketing athletes and partners.
- Research potential running, golf and pickleball athletes/ambassadors that align with the Skechers goals and initiatives.
o Ensure these athletes are on the executive team’s radar and poised to be on the roster
- Collaborate and work in a team environment with other sports and marketing team members
- Job functions, responsibilities, and/or systems are subject to change at the discretion of management with or without prior notification.
