A Skilled Site Laborer is responsible for assisting in the construction, repair, and maintenance of storm water systems on residential construction sites. The laborer ensures proper drainage and water flow by installing, repairing, and maintaining storm water infrastructure such as drains, culverts, etc. This position requires physical labor, attention to detail, and the ability to follow safety protocols. The Skilled Laborer plays a vital role in ensuring that construction sites are properly equipped to manage water flow and drainage, helping to prevent flooding and erosion while contributing to the overall success of the project. Responsibilities: • Installation and Maintenance of Storm Water Systems • Assist in the installation of storm drains, culverts, and other stormwater management systems. • Perform excavation, trenching, and grading for proper water flow and drainage • Install erosion control measures, such as silt fences and sediment basins, to protect the construction site and surrounding environment. Site Preparation and Cleanup: • Prepare construction sites for stormwater management work by clearing debris, grading, and preparing the ground. • Assist in backfilling trenches, compacting soil, and restoring the site after system installation. • Ensure work areas are clean, organized, and free of safety hazards. Use of Tools and Equipment: • Operate hand tools such as shovels, picks, and rakes, as well as small machinery such as compactors, trenchers, and pumps. • Follow proper procedures for using tools and equipment to complete tasks efficiently and safely. Safety Compliance: • Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations while working on the site. • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, gloves, and safety vests. • Report any hazards or safety concerns to the supervisor immediately. Collaboration and Communication: • Work closely with site supervisors, engineers, and other crew members to ensure proper installation and maintenance of storm water systems. Qualifications: • Experience in construction or stormwater system installation is preferred. • Knowledge of stormwater management systems and basic construction techniques. • Ability to operate hand tools and small machinery. • Strong work ethic and ability to perform physically demanding tasks. • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment. • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in construction.
