Description and Scope
Skywire Networks is looking for an experienced Senior Network Architect in a service provider environment that is customer-focused and driven to bring efficiency in optimizing the network for growth. Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Design, document, and oversee the implementation of core-to-edge network architecture and routing protocols on our Juniper platforms.
- Provide explanations of how enterprise and service provider networks are designed, deployed, operated, and measured to executive decision-makers and internal teams.
- Equipment evaluation and selection and roll out for both the core network and CPE devices.
- Work closely with the engineering and operations teams to oversee the implementation of network solutions, providing technical guidance, support, and troubleshooting when necessary.
- Conduct regular reviews and audits of existing network infrastructure, identifying areas for improvement and optimization to enhance network performance, security, and scalability.
- Provide technical training individually or in larger group settings.
- Design, document, and quote with a bill of material and/or statements of work for the implementation of network solutions for internal and external customers.
- Final Tier of support of issues within the network
- Collaborate with our network planning and sales engineering teams, providing pre-sales engineering through communication, both oral and written, on complex technical and sales issues to a variety of audiences, including internal and external executive-level technical decision-makers.
- IP address forecasting, definition of best practices, and documentation
- Write, review, and oversee the implementation of Methods of Procedure (MOPs) and network architecture designs.
- Stay current with Juniper products, technologies, and industry trends, and make recommendations for new hardware or software solutions to enhance network capabilities.
- Provide expertise in network security best practices and ensure that network solutions are designed with security in mind, including firewall configurations and access control.
- Act as a technical subject matter expert for Juniper devices and solutions, offering guidance to internal teams, clients, and partners.
- Collaborate with vendors and partners to evaluate, test, and select hardware and software components for network solutions, negotiating contracts and agreements as needed.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or engineering, or 5 or more years of equivalent work experience in a network service provider environment.
- Extensive experience in designing and architecting network solutions with a strong focus on Juniper devices and Juniper Networks technologies.
- 7+ years of hands-on practice and working knowledge in a Juniper/Cisco environment, on routing (BGP/OSPF/ISIS), Security (FW, IDP, IPS, etc.), and WAN routing technologies.
- 5+ Years designing, implementing, and testing MPLS, EVPNs, VPLSs & EPLs in a Juniper service provider environment.
- 5+ Years designing, implementing, and testing enterprise campus LAN & branch solutions, VoIP, 802.11 wireless technology, including trends and the latest state-of-the-art architecture reference models for both cloud and premise-based solutions.
- Active Juniper JNCIP certification or above with service provider experience.
- Demonstrate knowledge and experience using Juniper EX, MX, ACX, and SRX equipment in a metro-ethernet environment.
- Experience with SNMP, Telemetry, CFM and LFM.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, manage projects, and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active JNCIE, CISSP and/or CCIE certificates.
- Experience with SDWAN environments.
- Familiarity with standalone Virtual Machines OS (VMWare ESX and NSX as well as KVM and Open Source)
- Familiarity with cloud-based solutions and implementation models (especially using AWS, Azure, and Google).
- Familiarity with configuration, testing, and turn-up automation in the above environments.
- Experience with designing service provider internet access architecture
- Experience with Security as a Service with multiple security OEMs a plus
- Experience with DDOS mitigation, intrusion detection, and prevention a plus
- Experience with fixed wireless technologies and geo-redundancy routing methods.
