Syndeo Staffing is looking for a Small Engine Mechanic for a local service and equipment provider of residential and commercial construction projects.
Our client has been in business over 40 years and is looking for a second Mechanic to join their team.
As a Small Engine Mechanic, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing items such as: skid loaders, generators, excavators, or power washers, etc…, with the majority being gas or diesel engines.
Duties:
- Diagnose, service and repair all rental fleet equipment as well as customer equipment.
- Provide customer service concerning service and parts either by phone or face to face.
- Adjusts points, valves, carburetors, distributors, and sparkplug gaps, using feeler gauges.
- Reassemble engines after repair or maintenance work is complete.
- Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning and oiling parts,honing cylinders, and tuning ignition systems.
- Complete required paperwork as outlined by the ServiceSupervisor or Operations Manager. Paperwork could include but not be limited to to preventative maintenance schedules, warranty registrations and claims, repair orders,parts orders, rental agreements and sales orders
Requirements:
- Degree/Certification in Automotive Technology or equivalent experience
- Experience diagnosing and repairing gas or diesel engines
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Schedule Mon-Fri 7:00 am - 4:00 pm with 1-hour lunch and OT as needed
Hourly Rate: $21+ based on experience
After completion of the introductory period, you will be eligible for the full benefits package including medical, dental, PTO, and 401K (less any waiting period as per the client’s policy)
