Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Small Engine Service Manager to oversee the maintenance and repair operations of 2-stroke and 4-stroke motors used in construction equipment. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to preventive maintenance. The ideal candidate will be confident in troubleshooting, building trust with crews and vendors, and driving efficiency in equipment performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Communication & Technical Expertise - Communicate technical information effectively, ensuring clarity in verbal and written exchanges.
- Listen to customer needs and link them to specialized service offerings.
- Diagnose motor issues by asking precise and relevant questions.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with equipment vendors and construction crews.
Leadership & Influence - Foster a positive and optimistic team environment, enhancing team building and technical discussions.
- Exhibit confidence in troubleshooting and problem-solving for 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines.
- Act as a mentor and advocate, conducting difficult conversations with professionalism.

Technical Sales & Performance Orientation - Set and achieve equipment-specific performance goals.

Problem-Solving & Proactive Maintenance - Convert construction crew needs into practical maintenance and repair solutions.

Time Management & Process Efficiency - Plan and execute scheduled maintenance efficiently.
- Conduct proactive inspections to identify and resolve potential issues before they escalate.
- Balance maintenance efforts with equipment longevity, recommending major repairs or replacements when necessary.
- Advocate for and enforce maintenance procedures to ensure equipment reliability.
- Continuously evaluate and improve maintenance processes for enhanced efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience in small engine repair and maintenance, specifically with 2-stroke and 4-stroke motors.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
