    Position Type: Part-Time, transitioning to Full-Time (includes benefits upon transition)

    Overview: We are a small business seeking a motivated Small Instruments Service Technician with hands-on technical experience in equipment service and repair. A basic understanding of troubleshooting techniques is required, and we are willing to train the right candidate. While experience with medical and laboratory equipment is preferred, it is not mandatory.

    Responsibilities:

    Perform general service and repairs on microscopes and laboratory equipment, both in-house and on-site.

    Service and troubleshoot various equipment types, including:

    Binocular, trinocular (with digital camera), and multi-headed microscopes.

    Specialty microscopes and laboratory instruments.

    Provide on-site service to customer accounts in:

    Hospitals, laboratories, schools, research facilities, doctor’s offices, and industrial settings.

    Inspect customer reports and instruments to determine the scope of issues.

    Communicate professionally with clients, vendors, supervisors, and team members to ensure seamless workflow.

    Exercise discretion and independent judgment to resolve technical problems.

    Maintain accurate documentation, including field service reports.

    Assist with light warehouse duties, such as maintenance, shipping, and receiving.

    Requirements:

    Hands-on technical experience with equipment installation and repair.

    Basic understanding of troubleshooting techniques and approaches.

    A valid driver’s license.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Experience servicing microscopes or laboratory/medical equipment.

    Ability to analyze, evaluate, and troubleshoot small, complex components.

    Experience with component-level troubleshooting and repair.

    Compensation: Salary is based on experience. We offer competitive pay and are willing to train motivated individuals to become skilled service technicians.
