Job Summary
The Project Runner at Smalling Masonry is a key role that ensures all projects meet customer and company specifications. Reporting to the Project Coordinator, this position involves extensive interaction with sub crews and homeowners. Responsibilities include setting up sub crews for success, maintaining clear communication with homeowners, documenting project information in the CRM system, and ensuring accurate brick and roofing shingle matches for upcoming projects. The role requires travel to various local job sites, material delivery and pickup, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of job sites. The Project Runner also assists with additional production tasks as needed.

Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day of sub crews on chimney projects.
- Ensure excellent attention to detail and communication with subcontractors, team members, and customers.
- Drive company vehicles for material delivery and pickup to customers' homes, vendors, and project sites.
- Review upcoming project information, including brick and shingle matches, and obtain materials for homeowner approvals.
- Provide sample matches of brick and materials, confirming all selections with customers before work begins.
- Regularly update customers on project status and address any concerns.
- Pick up parts, tools, and equipment from various vendor locations for construction projects.
- Stage materials onsite for installation teams and maintain inventory preparation and organization.
- Maintain vehicle logs in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Load and unload trucks, erect and break down scaffolding, and handle materials safely at construction sites.
- Inspect truck equipment and supplies, such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and perform service maintenance.
- Secure cargo during transit with appropriate methods.
- Uphold company core values, deliver quality workmanship and excellent customer service.
- Keep work sites, warehouse, and yard clean and organized, including mowing small grass areas.
- Stage project materials and coordinate with different departments to prepare for projects.
- Assist in resolving customer service-related issues.
- Monitor compliance with job site safety plans and company safety procedures.
- Complete a final walkthrough with customers to ensure satisfaction and collect final payment.
Qualifications
- Experience in industrial, construction, or fast-paced production environments.
- Fluency in Spanish and English is required.
- Experience in masonry, chimney, roofing, or construction industry is a plus.
- Coachable team player with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of masonry construction processes and terminology is a plus.
- Strong visual skills to match colors, samples, materials, and textures
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pull and back up a trailer.
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen.
- Comfortable with outdoor work and heights.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and extended hours when necessary.
- Demonstrated high level of customer service.
- Ability to work well with others and as a self-starter with little to no supervision.
- Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and quick learning ability.
- Provide 2 professional references.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, sitting, bending, stooping, stretching, and repetitive lifting up to 75 lbs.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, operational cell phone, and reliable transportation.
This full-time position requires travel to various local job sites and a flexible work schedule from Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with occasional Saturdays as needed.
