  • Responsibilities

    Primary Duties

    • Evaluate equipment performance and maintenance costs to identify and lead continuous improvement opportunities.

    • Manage the lubrication and condition monitoring department for the Forney Mill.

    • Manage contractors for maintenance repair and installation activities

    • Manage contractor's weekly timesheets; including taxable, non-taxable, outage work, and emergency work

    • Monitor and develop projects to address equipment with high life cycle costs

    • Alternate maintenance call duty with Mechanical Superintendent

    • Act as backup for Mechanical Superintendent during his absence

    • Prepare justification, budget, and schedule for small capital projects

    • Implement the projects once approved

    • Manage maintenance improvement projects identified through RFCA and Pareto analysis

    • Learn relevant local and company requirements, rules and procedures.

    Strictly follows rules and guidelines and always uses the right procedure for the job. Promptly reports incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions or processes. SKNA employees regardless of level, position or tenure are responsible for upholding the safety standards regulations and policies.

    • May be assigned to other projects and duties

    Job Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or similar study required

    • Minimum 3-5 years of maintenance experience

    • High level of mechanical aptitude in order to understand the complex workings of the papermaking process

    • Demonstrated capabilities in project and time management.

    • Training and certification in Six Sigma or similar curriculum, and proven work experience.

    • High energy, with the ability to work in fast-paced environment

    • Computer proficiency required

    • Self-starter

    • Capable of independent thinking and working alone

    • Able to gain support of others with the use of excellent interpersonal and communication skills

    Salary info:

    $52 - $55.50 / hr
