The ideal candidate for this position is:
Is flexible, high energy, a self starter, takes initiative to learn and enjoys communicating and working with others towards a common goal.
Enjoys working with children and has a minimum of 2 to 3 years experience teaching children in a structured environment.
Is seeking a part time position (10 to 20 hours per week) with the opportunity for more hours on a periodic basis.
Generally has daytime and afternoon (9 am to 5 pm) availability most weekdays. Note: there is flexibility regarding days/times and certain programs and activities that require in person presence can be scheduled based on candidate's availability.
The core duties of a Snapology PT Day Time Instructor & Program Coordinator will be:
Lead and/or assist with teaching Snapology programs--field trips, homeschool, summer camps and after-school where you will be expected to promote creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while educating students on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) concepts. Programs are conducted for children ages 3-14.
Collaborate and communicate with Snapology leadership as well as represent the Snapology organization to schools, libraries, partners, parents & children with a high degree of professionalism.
Interact with Parents, Schools, Partners and other Snapology staff about Snapology Programs.
Work with Parents, Schools and Partners to finalize proposals for Snapology After-School Programs, Homeschool Programs, Field Trips, Library Programs, Birthday Parties, Summer Camps, Scouting Events and more.

Instructor Roles & Responsibilities:
Lead groups of up to 24 students through curriculum-guided activities
Transport learning materials to class/workshop/field trip location (as needed)
Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use the information to adjust teaching strategies
Adequately prepare for each program by reading curriculum, watching training videos and/or participating in face-to-face training sessions
Program Coordinator Roles & Responsibilities (over time):
Review curriculum & generate program outlines for upcoming programs
Inventory and maintain supplies & technology
Prep materials and supplies for upcoming programs
Be an active Brand Ambassador for Snapology and attend promotional events
Participate in Snapology virtual meetings, in person meetings and training sessions periodically
Regularly communicate with Snapology Operations Manager and Snapology Instructors
Answer and return calls from parents and partners inquiring about Snapology Programming
Develop and/or draft field trip, scouting event, summer camp and other event proposals
Work with parents to customize Birthday Party activities
Secure partner venues for Snapology programming--birthday parties, parent night outs, & summer camps.
Qualifications:
Criminal and Child Clearances current or willing to undergo screening (reimbursed)
2 or more years of experience working with children in a classroom or camp environment
Classroom teaching experience required
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis
Reliable transportation that can be used to transport materials and supplies
Ability to lift 20 lbs
This position is part-time. Depending on candidate availability and the time of year, Snapology PT Day Time Instructor & Program Coordinator typically work between 10-15 hours per week during the school year teaching day time and after-school programs during the school year. Additional hours may be available if interested in teaching/assisting evening and weekend programming, teaching/assisting with Summer Camps during summer months.
