Job Title: Social Emotional Wellness Specialist FLSA Status: Exempt
Department: School & Community Youth Services
Reports to: School and Community Youth Services (SCYS) Program Director and Lead Social Emotional Wellness
Summary of Responsibilities:
Provide in-person and community based one-on-one and/or small group activities for youth ages K to 12th grade as well as their families.
Responsibilities:
Provides in-person community-based one-on-one and small group activities for youth ages K to 12th grade and their families to support mental health wellness, socialization, coping skills, and stress management.
Conducts community outreach with MCPS, MC-Collaboration Council for Children Youth and Families, non-profits, and other community provider to identify youth that are nonengaged in Distance Learning or school as well as youth experiencing social isolation, anxiety, and depression.
Makes referrals for individuals/families for counseling or other social services as needed.
Consults with parents, school staff, or other providers regarding the progress of the child.
Attend’s school and parent meetings as needed.
Assists in the collection of program data for monthly and quarterly reports.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, psychology, or related field.
· Prior experience working with youth and families (internship experience considered).
· Must have own transportation.
· Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
· Bilingual preferred but not required (English/Spanish).
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Independent and flexible work style.
· Team player.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $52,000.00 - $54,000.00 per year
