    Job Description

    The Sustainability Analyst will be responsible for creating and implementing holistic strategies that will drive progress towards Vuori’s internal and external sustainability commitments. This role will be responsible for measuring, reporting and continuously striving to reduce the environmental impacts across all Vuori supply chain emissions and working cross-functionally to advance Vuori’s carbon reduction goals. This position will focus primarily on implementation of strategies that work to improve Vuori’s supply chain impacts including both environmental and social.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    MATERIALS & TRACEABILITY

    • Develop & implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to govern materials selection, trademarks, certifications, traceability, audits, and approvals
    • Work with Materials and Innovation teams to vet raw materials POs to ensure they meet our sustainability standards prior to bulk order and coordinate receipt of appropriate certificates (i.e., Scope & Transaction certificates) before and after PO is placed
    • Lead the development of new & strategic product/material LCAs to help inform material decisions that relate to the overall decarbonization strategy
    • Manage supply chain mapping to achieve better transparency and management of our raw materials partners through Vuori specific tools or select software
    • Support the management of various certifications, to ensure compliance with standards such as GOTS, GRS, RWS, FSC, etc. This includes working with auditing organizations and determining requirements based on product claims
    • Responsible for staying up to date on materials, chemical standards, new technology and innovative reduction strategies to ensure compliance with evolving regulations related to materials, carbon & traceability

    SUPPLY CHAIN REDUCTION STRATEGY

    • Develop, collect, and analyze Supplier environmental metrics for Vuori’s business operations, using tools like the Higg FEM (Facility Environmental Module) or other self-developed tools starting with our Tier 1 & Tier 2 vendors and expanding as we continue to progress in our ESG strategy
    • Responsible for gathering, verifying, and sharing the data needed to accurately report Vuori’s Scope 3 emissions that relates to Purchased Goods & Services
    • Continually evaluate the success & feasibility of supply chain specific impact reduction programs and use insights to enhance future projects

    SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

    • Support the development of the Social Responsibility program including internal procedures, training, and supplier communications
    • Organize and maintain databases related to factories/audits
    • Gather data to support reporting of key metrics to Social Responsibility Initiative manager
    • Assist with implementation & communication of vendor-facing human rights related initiatives
    • Support review of potential new vendors, to ensure alignment with Vuori values and Vendor Code of Conduct; track Social Responsibility status of vendors being onboarded
    • Assist in collection of vendor risk score data to be provided to internal teams; Leverage third-party systems to effectively collect data needed to assign risk scores to vendors
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant work experience required
    • 3+ years' work experience in environmental /product sustainability or in a human rights related role
    • Strong leadership and communications skills
    • Ability to think and plan strategically, operating in KPI driven culture.
    • Problem analysis and problem resolution at both strategic and functional levels
    • Must possess strong knowledge of global apparel production, sustainability, logistics and coordination
    • Position will be based in Carlsbad, CA
    • International and domestic travel required (up to 10%) including by air, ground and overnight

    Additional Information

    Pay Range: $75,000 - $95,000
