    Role Summary

    Applies developed to advanced subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex technical issues within a technology domain/subject, keeps current with technology trends and innovations, and may be considered a subject matter expert. Works on one or more problems / projects of diverse complexity and scope. Broadly defines policies and practices to identify or determine the best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives. Leads internal learning to share proven methods and practices and ensure common application of them across the organization. May act as a team or project leader providing expertise or direction to team activities and facilitates information validation and team decision-making process. Ability to handle the most unique situations. May seek advice to make decisions on complex business issues. Provides mentoring and guidance to other architects and engineers. Frequently represents the organization to external partners, and responsible to ensure quality delivery based on architectural principles.

    Responsibilities:

    • Architect reusable solutions within a project or operational scope
    • Contribute to the architect profession across multiple domains or functional areas
    • Oversee the design/implementation of architectures of project and program or operational scope.
    • Lead small to medium architecture activities.
    • Assess technical impact of and align with long-term technologies/strategies.
    • Identify and address technical or operational risks of project, program, and operational scope.
    • Coaches' other architects and engineers
    • Collaborates with project managers to develop project plans for medium to large projects.
    • Develop and deliver presentations for partner stakeholders.
    • Creates and oversees internal learning programs in one or more technology domains.
    • Explores new partner opportunities and leads POC efforts.

    Capabilities

    • Ability to analyze and articulate a business problem or need and design a complete solution.
    • Experience leading the architectural design, development and deployment of medium to large technology projects and solutions.
    • Familiar with multiple architectural and development methodologies (e.g., Zachman, TOGAF, ITSM) and applies appropriate methodologies to solve business issues.
    • Identifies and mitigates technical risks and challenges within a project or solution.
    • Expert level knowledge of specific technologies, IT operations, or IT disciplines often with industry certification(s)
    • Strong listening, oral and written communication skills with the ability to persuade and create trust with multiple audiences at all organizational levels.
    • Leadership in the architect profession locally
    • Understands and applies current technology or operational trends to customer problems.
    • Ability to build and manage strategic relationships with other leaders and partner stakeholders.
    • Good business influence and negotiation skills
    • Ability to lead a small team in the completion of one or more architecture, requirements, operational, or implementation deliverables.
    • Ability to listen and learn.
    • Clear, kind, and candid communication
    • Leadership in saying what needs to be said to move a conversation, project, and deliverable forward.
    • BS Degree in a Computer Science-related field or equivalent education and relevant experience
    • 10 or more years’ experience as a software engineer.
    • 4 or more years’ experience as a software architect.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
