Software Developer - on-site position located in Saint Paul, MN

We plan to grow our development team to accelerate and support our growth objectives.
In this role, our Software Developers will develop new features, maintain existing features, and fix bugs in Nagios enterprise products and open-source projects. Our Software Developers work in collaboration with other team members on projects as assigned by the Product Development Manager or as directed by a Senior Developer.
Hours: Monday-Friday 9:00-5:00pm. This position will be fully onsite.
Location: on-site in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Nagios is proud to provide services to users worldwide, but at this time we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment Visa at this time.
Wage: $90k + DOQ
Job Duties:
- Implement Enterprise feature solutions.
- Complete open-source projects as assigned.
- Define, create, and maintain all documentation.
- Investigate, document, and fix bugs while working with QA and Support to ensure quality standards.
- Ensure products are ready for release in a timely manner.
- Implement specific instructions delegated by the Product Development Manager or the project/development lead.
- Assist with the design and creation of new products and features.
- Write quality code and participate in code reviews with the development team and senior development team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
- Must have –
- Demonstrated proficiency in front end development technologies: PHP, Javascript variants, CSS, HTML.
- LAMP stack, especially database proficiency.
- Git/GitLab/GitHub.
- Ability to pick up additional languages and technologies quickly.
- Nice to have –
- One or more of Python, Ansible, CodeIgniter, C, PERL, bash experience.
- OS/systems experience.
- Experience writing automated tests.
- Great to have -
- Development team experience/sprints/peer code review.
- IT infrastructure experience (VMWare, Nutanix, Kubernetes, containers, networking and network equipment, SNMP, Windows Server, databases, etc.).
- Formal programming education is valued but not required.
