Primary Purpose and Functions:
LineLeader is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our team. In this role, the SDET will be responsible for automated test development, with a particular focus on ensuring the testability, robustness, and performance of our software. The ideal candidate will be an experienced testing professional with strong programming skills, capable of creating automation tools and frameworks to complement the manual testing process.
This individual will design, develop, and maintain automated test solutions for LineLeader software using tools such as Cypress, Postman, and JMeter. They will also be responsible for developing new tests to identify and prevent bugs from reaching production by leveraging automated testing.
The successful candidate will be a collaborative team player, eager to learn, with a keen attention to detail and a tenacious approach to finding vulnerabilities in software..
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Thoroughly check all new development for regression and fulfillment of acceptance criteria.
Collaborate with developers to derive testing requirements throughout the development cycle.
Reproduce, debug, isolate, and report problems with detailed steps; verify fixes for reported issues.
Strong experience using Cypress for front-end test automation, including writing, executing, and maintaining automated tests for web applications.
Monitor key system components, such as APIs and integrations.
Perform pre- and post-release functional, regression, and mobile app testing.
Communicate professionally and collaborate with developers to identify and solve problems.
Log new bugs with enough detail to reproduce and resolve them.
Contribute to all team meetings.
Engage in exploratory testing in addition to automated testing, to uncover potential issues not covered by automated scripts.
Knowledge and Skills:
Strong understanding of the flow of code and how it interacts with different components.
Demonstrated experience utilizing JMeter for load testing.
2+ years of relevant experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test, Quality Engineering, or System Reliability Engineering.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in automated software testing using Cypress.
Advanced understanding of agile methodologies like CI/CD
Experience testing web-based and mobile applications.
Proficient in end-to-end testing, including data integrity, browser compatibility, interface testing, API testing, and more.
Experience with load and performance testing, including stress testing, spike testing, and endurance testing.
Excellent attention to detail.
Previous experience testing applications with financial components, such as payment processing.
