Title: Software Engineer Manager

We are looking for a Technical Team Lead who is ready to manage a small team of developers supporting a division of our company. The right candidate is an excellent communicator and organizer who can work with department heads to make the best use of development resources to create solutions. The manager will coordinate the day-to-day work of a group of developers and be the first person they go to for design, project management, and business support. 8 to 15 years’ experience preferred and experience working on at least 2 different teams.

Team-first developers who enjoy interacting and learning with their teammates would be a good fit for this client. This is a hybrid position in St. Louis, which requires two days in the office and allows three from home if desired.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist developers on team with project management: defining problems, deciding on a solution, organizing a roadmap, coding, and testing (70%)
• Handling escalated issues (help putting out fires) (10%)
• Help steer the direction of development as the team and company grows (10%)
• Complete regular scheduled check-ins with developers to make sure they are happy and productive developers (10%)

Ideal Required Knowledge and Skills:

• The ideal candidate has worked on more than one development team building internal business applications
• The ideal candidate has built applications on more than one kind of architecture and can help evangelize the client architecture
• The ideal candidate knows C# and has more than 8 years’ experience building business applications, however knowledge in Java or Visual Basic would also be considered sufficient
• The ideal candidate has an IT-related degree, but a degree in any field would be considered
• Bonus points given for candidates with Pharmacy Technology experience. Experience working for or with a Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) company
