    We are partnering with a leading end-to-end supply chain and manufacturing company in the Philadelphia Area to find a Solution Architect for their growing team. This company, specializing in disposable products for various industries, including food service, janitorial, and medical sectors, has experienced significant growth through strategic acquisitions and organic expansion. The IT Business Delivery team is seeking a Solution Architect to support the Warehouse and Transportation functions by driving advanced software solutions across the organization to support M&A activities and the overall organic growth of the enterprise.

    This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future technology stack of a dynamic company, working on cloud solutions, digital transformation, and hybrid systems integration. The Solution Architect will serve in a hybrid role involving requirements gathering with the business, creating technical specifications, designing solutions, and coordinating with development teams and QA teams. The Solution Architect is a key player in delivering IT solutions that support and enhance business processes across multiple ERP systems and their associated modules (mainly focused on Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Transportation Management Systems (TMS)).

    This is a full-time, Direct-Hire position that will work on a remote basis, ideally in the Northeast of the US (will work Eastern US timezone as well). There will be travel associated with this role up to 20% for initial requirements gathering, user acceptance testing, and delivery.

     

    The Role You'll Play

    This position calls for a rare blend of business acumen and technological expertise. As a Solution Architect on this team, you'll serve in a dual role of Business Analyst and Solution Architect. This will involve working closely with the business end users up front for requirements gathering and understanding how they use the legacy systems, then designing the solutions for integration and migration to the target system/process and overseeing the unit testing and user acceptance testing process through to delivery. You will work closely with project managers, QA engineers, data integration engineers, and other BAs and SAs on the team.

    • Deliver advanced software solutions to the company's various business units, focusing on ERP systems and their Warehouse and Transportation modules.

    • Support and enhance business processes, including Inventory Allocation, Transportation Planning, Picking, Packing, and Shipping for the Manufacturing and Distribution industry.

    • Contribute to the development of the future technology stack, including cloud solutions, digital transformation, and hybrid systems integration.

    • Anticipate, research, and plan for information technology trends in Warehouse and Transportation management.

    • Work closely with the business leads and the project managers to understand major initiatives and prepare IT systemic support.

    • Identify benefits and risks of various processes and emerging technologies, effectively communicating their value to stakeholders.

    • Lead users in road mapping, requirements definition, and solution delivery.

    • Analyze business problems and processes, develop alternative solutions, and present recommendations to project teams and business customers.

    • Execute and oversee technical delivery of custom development, integrations, data migration, and testing elements of implementations.

    • Oversee unit testing and first-level testing post-development.

    • Mentoring and supporting interns and departmental colleagues in their development.

       

    Background Profile

    The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of technical expertise and business acumen, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into understandable business terms. Key qualifications include:

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.

    • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in business applications or related work.

    • Strong knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Transportation Management Systems (TMS)

    • Strong consultative customer engagement and influencing skills across functional groups.

    • Proficiency in SDLC and Agile software delivery methodologies (e.g., Scrum).

    • 5+ years of super-user experience with ERP, Warehouse Management, and Transportation Management systems in a distribution or manufacturing environment.

    • Expert knowledge of ERP functionality, development toolsets, system architecture, and system setups, as well as WMS and TMS.

    • Comfort working with IBM iSeries AS400 and SQL Server, with strong SQL knowledge.

    • Experience with change management and process improvement

    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

    • Outstanding communication skills (oral, written, and interpersonal)

    Preferred:

    • Experience with JDA, Manhattan, RedPrairie (WMS) nice to have

    • Familiarity with 3GTMS, Red Prairie, Blue Yonder, or SAP TMS

    • Understanding of Shipment Consolidation

    • Knowledge of Order to Cash processes

    • Experience with Epicor Manufacturing CMS and S2K ERP



  • Compensation
    $110,000-$130,000 per year
