POSITION SUMMARY:
A Field Service Engineer is for working with customers to understand the nature of their process and the type of automation equipment used in order to provide first level technical support and troubleshooting. This role is also required to complete service offerings that include drive startups, infrastructure assessments, cybersecurity assessments and LOTO services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Include the following; other duties may be assigned)
- Drive Startup and Configuration
- Follow standardized procedures to ensure necessary electrical, mechanical, and environmental criteria have been met.
- Deliver in-service warranty and capture drive data to enable remote monitoring and analytics contracts.
- Establish relationships with maintenance and engineering teams to ensure high level customer satisfaction.
- Infrastructure Assessments
- Perform on site collection of current install base through site walks and data collection tools ins an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Follow all safety procedures provided by OneSource and the customer.
- Perform on site collection of arc flash and lockout tag out policies, procedures, and compliance information.
- Interact with different departments within customers to assess networking and cybersecurity policies and procedures.
- Cybersecurity Assessments
- Leverage technology to assess the physical, logical and cybersecurity status of a customer network.
- Understand industry best practices and standards that apply to Industrial IT and OT networks.
- First Level Technical Resource
- Act as an initial responder to customer needs in troubleshooting automation equipment based on subject matter expertise.
- Understand escalation points and resources to best position third party expertise.
- Complete programming and software installation as required per customer specification.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
ELECTRICAL, INDUSTRIAL AND/OR DISTRIBUTION EXPERIENCE PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED
- Bachelor's degree (B.A or B.S.) from a 4-year college or University; or
- 3 - 5 years' of related experience and/or training; or
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with Rockwell Automation/Allen Bradley Products including Studio5000, RSLogix 5/500, FTView Studio, Motion Control, etc.)
- Knowledge of ABB, Siemens, Mitsubishi or Omron Controls (Desired/Not Required)
- Industry Certifications are a plus (Cisco, Rockwell, etc.)
