Job Title: Sous Chef
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. The Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef to oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, including menu planning, food preparation, and staff management. The ideal candidate will have a strong culinary background, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for creating delicious and visually appealing dishes.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and staff management
Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, and plating
Ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation
Manage and train kitchen staff, including line cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers
Ensure that all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and in good working order
Monitor food inventory and place orders as needed
Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation regulations
Participate in the development and implementation of new dishes and menus
Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-volume kitchen
Strong culinary background and understanding of various cooking techniques
Proven leadership skills and the ability to manage and train a team
Strong organizational and time management skills
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
Passion for creating delicious and visually appealing dishes
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
Education:
Culinary Degree or equivalent experience
