    Competitive Pay -The Sous Chef is an hourly compensated leadership development role on the path to becoming a Chef with ESR. Our Sous Chefs makes between $70 and $75K, based on hours worked, and Overtime is authorized for this position, up to 5 hours per week.

    Qualifications

    Thorough understanding of various cooking techniques, ingredients, equipment, procedures.

    Emphasis on accuracy, speed, and attention to detail.

    Strong problem solving skills and adaptability in the moment.

    Ability to learn the POS and other necessary computer functions.

    Comprehensive knowledge of industry best practices.

    Current WA State Food Handler Card.

    Culinary degree strongly preferred.

    This is a Non-exempt Hourly Management role and does not participate in tip sharing.

    ESR does not believe a heavy reliance on traditional gratuities is an equitable or modern way to compensate employees. Accordingly, ESR pays its hourly employees an equitable and agreed-upon hourly rate. While not expected, any gratuities that are left are split amongst hourly employees. To help ensure its best-in-class customer experience and ability to remain competitive, ESR adds a 22% service charge to all checks. Those service charges are retained (100%) by the house.
