    Job Description

    South Valley Claims is an independent adjusting firm for D.M.I. Insurance Services' Used Car Dealer and Automotive Specialty Shop programs.

    As our Claims Adjuster, you will be responsible for the investigation, evaluation, and disposition of claims with low-to-moderate supervision. This includes the determination of coverage and liability, as well as evaluating damages and setting proper reserves. This position entails heavy emphasis on auto physical damage and minor bodily injury claims, with occasional general liability or real property claims. We require a minimum three years of experience with auto claims. Experience evaluating attorney demand packages is a plus.

    Duties will include, but are not limited to:

    • Holding a current Texas adjuster license (preferably licensed in most states)
    • Handling claims start to finish
    • Exercising sound judgment to analyze the claims exposure and careful decision making to determine the proper course of action in settling the claim
    • Interacting extensively with the various parties involved in the claim process
    • Preparing letters such as disclaimers/ reservation of rights/ excess/ liability denial/ settlement
    • Thinking critically in order to solve problems, organize investigative activities and negotiate effectively
    • Documenting communications on all claim activity in a timely and effective manner which supports the outcome of the claim file
    • Competently operating a PC with knowledge of MS office applications including the capacity to work in a paperless environment

    • Ability to write concisely using proper grammar and spelling
