    Summary:

    Provide administrative support for the day-to-day human resource functions of the credit union. Administer and monitor human resource programs and ensure compliance with credit union policies as well as external rules and regulations. Participate in developing department systems, goals, and targets. Provide staff and managers with an effective resource for resolution of employee relations issues.

    Responsibilities:

    • Consistently meet Space City Credit Union Core Values
    • Conduct/Prepare Onboarding new Team Members
    • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates, including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
    • Perform payroll and benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, annual re-evaluation of policies for cost effectiveness, and information activities programs.
    • Prepare and maintain handbook on policies and procedures. Provide guidance on managing to, and staying compliant with, policies.
    • Conduct recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt employees.
    • Create effective advertising strategies, utilize Internet resources, and interview and evaluate candidates. Conduct background checks, complete reference checks, and update database of applicants. Monitor effectiveness of recruitment and coach managers in the process.
    • Establish and maintain department records and reports. Participate in administrative staff meetings and attend other meetings, such as seminars.
    • Required to attend annual training sessions as instructed or scheduled.
    • Maintain company organization charts and employee directory.
    • Process daily correspondence and prepare reports, presentations, and spreadsheets. Utilize a range of computer applications and ensure accuracy of work.
    • Review employee time sheets for accuracy of time off.
    • Provide HR Reports for Board Review
    • Process any change of status requirements (name or address change, marital change, promotion, salary increase, etc.); process changes in insurance or benefits programs; maintain up-to-date, accurate personnel files.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned.
    • Accountable to maintain knowledge of and comply with all applicable rules and regulations required within the scope of duties, including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act.

    Knowledge and Experience:

    • One year of payroll or related experience
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, multitask, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
    • Ability to read, analyze and interpret instructions, procedures, and regulations.
    • Two years PC experience including word, excel, and other Microsoft applications.
    • Knowledgeable about the credit union system, its structure, common language and acronyms, philosophy, and the credit union’s mission statement
    • Effective communication provides guidance and fosters a positive work environment.
    • Organizational Skills to manage the substantial amounts of data and documents involved in keeping track of employees.

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, creative thinker, internet savvy.
