Spanish-Speaking Accountant

Location: Chicago, IL (Downtown) – In Office, 5 Days/Week
Compensation: $85,000 Base Salary + Annual Bonus

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Spanish-Speaking Accountant to support our international accounting operations, specifically focusing on the Latin America region. Based in our downtown Chicago office, this role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, global environment and be a part of a mission-driven organization making a difference in renewable energy.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in accounting, fluency in Spanish, and experience or interest in international finance. This role is a critical part of our accounting team, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting for our operations in Latin America.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accounting Operations:

  • Oversee and execute accounting functions for the Latin America region, including journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly close processes.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with corporate standards and regional regulations.

• Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with local tax laws and accounting regulations in Latin America.
  • Support audits and provide necessary documentation for external and internal stakeholders.

• Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the international accounting team and regional finance leaders to align on financial processes and reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and consultants as needed.

• Process Improvement:

  • Identify and implement process enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably with exposure to international operations.
• Fluent in Spanish (written and spoken) – required to support Latin American operations.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices (GAAP or IFRS experience preferred).
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Excel skills preferred).
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-cultural and global environment.
• Experience in renewable energy or related industries is a plus.
