Responsibilities: • Assist attorneys with managing criminal case files, ensuring deadlines are met and documents are organized. • Draft, proofread, and file legal documents, including motions, correspondence, and pleadings. • Communicate with clients, courts, and other legal professionals to facilitate case progress. • Schedule appointments, court dates, and meetings, ensuring calendars are up to date. • Conduct light research and gather necessary case information as directed. • Provide general administrative support to maintain efficiency in a fast-paced environment. • Billing for your time working on files. Qualifications: • Organized and Detail-Oriented: You thrive on keeping things in order and ensuring accuracy in all tasks. • Adaptable and Proactive: You’re able to pivot quickly between tasks and anticipate what’s needed next. • Compassionate Communicator: You possess excellent communication skills and can work effectively with people under stress. • Spanish Speaking. • Proven experience as a Legal Assistant, preferably in criminal defense or a related field. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software (experience with Clio is a plus). • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases and priorities. • Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures in criminal law. • High school diploma or equivalent; additional legal certifications are a plus. Compensation: $35,000 - $50,000 yearly
