    Position Summary

    Our client is currently seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer to join their Enterprise Technology practice. If you are passionate about pioneering cloud solutions and thrive in collaborative, fast-paced environments, this role may be perfect for you. As a Cloud Engineer, you will work closely with technical teams, product owners, and other stakeholders to design, build, and maintain solutions on cloud platforms.

    Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with project teams, enterprise architects, and infrastructure, networking, and security teams to develop logical and technical cloud architectures, API designs, and functional requirements for secure cloud environments.
    • Design and support the implementation of cloud-based capabilities and technologies such as containers, serverless architectures, infrastructure-as-code, and cloud orchestration/automation.
    • Provide technical expertise on complex problems, technology selection, solution design, deployment, and maintenance for cloud environments.
    • Review and enhance IT processes, specifically focusing on cloud operations, development, and automation, to build a modern cloud environment utilizing new technologies and methodologies.
    • Support the day-to-day operations of the AWS environment, providing subject matter expertise for application and infrastructure teams.
    • Communicate effectively with technical staff, business stakeholders, and IT leadership.
    • Develop and advocate for cloud-focused technologies and processes, demonstrating their benefits to both business and technical teams.

    Qualifications

    Education & Certificates

    • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Information Technology or a similar discipline.
    • AWS Certified Solution Architect, AWS Certified System Administrator, or similar certifications strongly preferred.
    • Industry-standard certifications are advantageous.

    Professional Experience

    • 6+ years of relevant IT experience required.
    • 4+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting cloud platforms, primarily AWS.
    • Proficient in managing AWS resource lifecycles including design, provisioning, security, and automation.
    • Hands-on experience with a variety of AWS services such as VPC, Lambda, SNS, SQS, etc.
    • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK) and modern programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, .NET, etc.).
    • Experience building DevOps/Agile style development processes within an organization.
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex topics to stakeholders of different levels.
    • Demonstrated ability to work across multiple technology and project teams to design and build solutions.

    Competencies & Attributes

    • Demonstrated working experience in AWS cloud development, integration, and management.
    • Experience with common cloud development tools and services such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Lambda, etc.
    • Familiarity with operational ITSM and CI/CD tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Datadog, etc.).
