CCCU is looking for a talented Special Accounts Representative to initiate collection action that will result in repayment of loans in a timely manner, staying within State and Federal guidelines and credit union policies. You will give consider the problems members may have in fulfilling their obligations to help protect their membership and relationship with CCCU. You will be highly skilled in conflict resolution and negotiation through both written and verbal communication. You will be organized, self-motivated, have excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and investigate deposit and loan accounts to uncover potential fraud.
- Handle all incoming levies while staying informed of levy and garnishment laws and policy changes.
- Field incoming calls from members, courts, and attorneys.
- Professionally contact, collect, and maintain delinquent loan and negative accounts.
- Handle all negative checking and savings account closures and maintain Chexsystems reporting and paid closure updates.
- Review, investigate, and respond to all written and electronic credit disputes while complying with all aspects of FCRA and FACT Acts.
- Conduct skip-tracing and investigation of problem and delinquent accounts utilizing internet searches and social media.
- Adhere to high ethical standards by following Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) policies and procedures as they relate to this position
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Skills & Qualifications
- 2 or 4-year college degree, or equivalent credit union or banking experience
- 2-3 years’ experience in a Collections environment
- Intermediate knowledge of Windows based PC applications, including MS Office and in-house data processing systems
- Knowledge of collection practices and law, repossessions, bankruptcy law, skip-tracing, consumer and real estate loans, vendor relationships, and provisions of Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
