Sign On Bonus of $1,500 (After first 60 days worked)
A special education teacher, or special needs teacher, provides specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, including physical, cognitive, and/or emotional disabilities, adapting lessons and collaborating with parents and staff to meet individual student goals.
* **Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs):** Create and update IEPs that outline a student's specific needs, goals, and services.
* **Provide specialized instruction:** Deliver lessons and activities tailored to meet the unique learning styles and needs of students with disabilities.
* **Adapt and modify curriculum:** Modify general education lessons and materials to ensure accessibility and effectiveness for students with disabilities.
* **Assess student progress:** Regularly monitor and assess student progress towards IEP goals and make adjustments as needed.
* **Collaborate with other professionals:** Work closely with general education teachers, parents, specialists (e.g., therapists, counselors), and other staff to ensure students receive comprehensive support.
* **Manage student behavior:** Implement positive behavior interventions and strategies to create a positive and supportive learning environment.
* **Communicate with parents:** Regularly communicate with parents about their child's progress, IEP goals, and any concerns.
* **Stay current with best practices:** Continue professional development to stay up-to-date on current research and best practices in special education.

* Assist students with special needs under the direction of a certified teacher.
