Because we believe in the beauty found in differences, Journey School will be using a variety of different therapies and methodology including but not limited to: speech therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, behavior therapy, and Son-Rise to enable and to educate. Our students will focus on life and behavior skills needed to thrive in their homes and everyday activities. We want each child to have the freedom to focus on their individual talents and gifts while learning all they need to thrive as empowered individuals.

Statement of Faith Staff must agree with the following statement of Faith that guides the ministry of Journey School for the Uniquely Gifted and Talented: • There is one sovereign God in three persons: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. • There is one way to Salvation: faith in Jesus Christ, the son of God, who lived as a man, died for the sins of all men, and was resurrected so that all who believe and confess Jesus as Lord with their mouths will be saved. • There is one book of truth: the Bible, God’s written revelation to man, authoritative and inerrant, without the need of any other document to complete is message. • There is one body: the church, with its many parts acting in unison.

Guiding Principles • Love and glorify God in all that we do (1 Corinthians 10:31, 1 Peter 4:11) • To affirm, encourage, and equip parents in support of their child’s unique gifts and abilities. • To educate on an individual basis, always encouraging our students to reach their full potential and assuming competence in all things. • To encourage family involvement and a family environment.

Morals Journey School for the Uniquely Gifted and Talented stands firmly upon the truth of God’s word and the moral foundations that it establishes. This includes but is not limited to, the biblical definition of marriage (Genesis 2:22-24), the boundaries of sexuality and moral conduct, and the biblical teaching that gender is established by God’s design from birth and God makes no mistakes. Staff who are employed at Journey School are agreeing to support these and other basic biblical values derived from Scripture.

Biblical Lifestyle Statement An important part of Journey’s Schools mission is to encourage spiritual development in the lives of students and staff. This includes leading students to develop a biblical understanding of morality and to pursue a life that is governed by the biblical moral code. Journey School reserves the right to, within its sole discretion, refuse employment or terminate employment of a person who conduct themselves in opposition to the biblical lifestyle the school stands on. This includes, but is not limited to, participating in, supporting, or affirming sexual immorality, homosexual activity, or bisexual activity, or transsexual activity; promoting such practices, or being unable to support the moral principles of the school.

We will only consider employment for people who: • Profess their faith in Jesus Christ as the only way of salvation • Agree that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and is wholly inerrant • Agree that marriage is between one man and one woman • Affirm our statement of faith • Agree to our staff handbook and conduct requirements • All employees should have a loving relationship with, and an active faith in Jesus Christ • All employees should have a meaningful involvement in a Bible believing church whose doctrine and practice bears no contradiction to the basic doctrine and practice of Journey School • All employees should have a sincere interest in the spiritual life and Christian education of children • Believe that each of our students are capable of MORE and always assume competence.
