We are looking for a talented Special Education Teacher for an ESY program. Details below:
- This position will startJune 2, 2025 and go through June 26, 2025. Classes take place Mondays through Thursdays (no classes on Fridays) For the week of June 16th classes will be in session Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday with NO SCHOOL on June 19th.
- Orientation: May 28th and 29th 8am - noon
- This position is in person
- Grade Level: K - 4
- Estimated Caseload: students are still being registered, no count at this time
- Classes are Resource or Instructional
- Weekly guaranteed Hours for staff 7:45 am - 12:15 pm
Hourly Rate Range: $35.00-$44.00 per hour
Responsibilities would include:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
- Provide differentiated instruction in one-on-one, small group, and inclusive classroom settings.
- Adapt lesson plans, curriculum, and instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
- Assess and monitor student progress using data-driven decision-making.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure student success.
- Participate in IEP meetings, student evaluations, and parent-teacher conferences.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) and IDEA guidelines.
- Implement behavioral intervention plans (BIPs) and classroom management strategies.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Special Education from an accredited program.
- Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Special Education Endorsement (issued by the Illinois State Board of Education – ISBE).
- LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist I) endorsement required.
- Experience with IEP development and implementation.
- Fingerprint Clearance & Background Check required.
