    Overview:

    We are actively seeking two dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teachers to join our team in Elko, Nevada, serving students in grades 9-12. This position focuses on supporting students with diverse learning needs in high school, with caseloads ranging from 27 to 32 students. Our ideal candidates are passionate educators who can foster an inclusive, positive, and engaging learning environment that meets the individual needs of each student.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with students, parents, and multidisciplinary team members.
    • Provide specialized instruction and modifications for students with various disabilities, including learning disabilities, behavioral challenges, and developmental delays.
    • Work closely with general education teachers to adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to support the success of students in inclusive classrooms.
    • Monitor and assess student progress, making data-driven adjustments to instructional plans as needed.
    • Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior, and communication with families, adhering to district and state guidelines.
    • Utilize technology and adaptive equipment to enhance learning opportunities for students.
    • Engage in professional development to stay current on best practices in special education and comply with state and federal laws regarding special education.

    Qualifications:

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
    • Licensure: Valid Nevada State Teaching License with Special Education Endorsement for grades 9-12, or eligibility for reciprocity if certified in another state.
    • Experience: Prior experience working with high school students in special education settings is preferred, particularly with caseloads of 25+ students.
    • Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with students, staff, families, and community resources.
