    Job Description

    ABOUT THE ROLE

    Join as a Specialist of Talent Recruitment for Home Office and School-Based Operations. Your role: source, identify, and attract top-tier talent for Central Office and Regional teams.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    TALENT SOURCING & OUTREACH

    • Lead national sourcing efforts using LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, Handshake, 12Twenty, MBA/Niche job boards, and resume databases
    • Build robust pipelines of passive and active talent across Home Office business functions and school-based leadership roles
    • Develop outreach campaigns that are personalized, compelling, and aligned with Uncommon’s brand and mission
    • Stay current on sourcing trends, digital recruitment strategies, and evolving platforms
    • Own and optimize job board presence to ensure visibility with top candidates

    RECRUITMENT STRATEGY & EXECUTION

    • Collaborate with the Talent Recruitment Directors and hiring managers to define ideal candidate profiles and drive proactive sourcing plans
    • Analyze sourcing funnel metrics to optimize outreach and improve conversion rates
    • Research and recommend new sourcing tools and methods to expand reach and candidate variety
    • Manage the full top-of-funnel process—from initial outreach through to candidate engagement and handoff to selection and hiring teams

    PARTNERSHIP & COMMUNICATION

    • Partner with hiring managers and regional leadership to assess short- and long-term hiring needs
    • Build relationships with mission-aligned organizations, graduate schools, certificate programs, and fellowship pipelines (e.g., Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT), Pahara Fellowship, Ed Pioneers, Teach for America, AmeriCorps, Relay GSE)
    • Support planning and execution of recruitment events (webinars, info sessions, fairs) targeting leadership talent and emerging professionals
    • Work closely with the Selection Recruiters and Talent Directors to align messaging, tools, and data across the recruitment funnel
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree required
    • 3-4 years of talent sourcing, recruitment marketing, or talent acquisition experience
    • Proven expertise with LinkedIn Recruiter, Handshake, Indeed, 12Twenty, SmartRecruiters ATS, and CRM tools
    • Strong writing skills with the ability to create high-converting candidate communications
    • Analytical mindset—comfortable using data to inform strategy and prioritize efforts
    • Exceptional organization and project management skills
    • Passion for Uncommon’s mission and a strong sense of ownership in building high-performing teams
    • Ability to travel occasionally to recruitment events or campus visits

    Compensation for this position : The starting pay will most likely be $82,500 to $87,300. The full range for this role is between $82,500 and $97,000 but the starting pay will depend on various factors including relevant professional experience, education, certifications, and tenure with Uncommon Schools. To receive an offer at the top of the range, candidates will need significant experience beyond the job description requirements. Because we value staff tenure in a role, we do not currently cap salary ranges for current staff members.
