    Position Summary/Responsibilities

    The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders. Key responsibilities include:

    • Conducting comprehensive assessments to evaluate speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
    • Developing individualized treatment plans tailored to patient needs and goals.
    • Implementing therapy interventions to improve speech clarity, language comprehension, cognitive skills, and swallowing ability.
    • Monitoring patient progress and modifying treatment plans as necessary under supervision of the rehab team.
    • Educating patients and families on communication techniques and strategies for improving daily function.
    • Documenting patient progress and maintaining accurate records in the electronic medical records (EMR) system.
    • Collaborating with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure coordinated care.
    • Ensuring compliance with facility policies and state and federal healthcare regulations.

    Requirements

    • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
    • Current and valid Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) license/certification.
    • Experience with adult/geriatric populations, particularly in rehabilitation settings, is preferred.
    • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
    • Strong communication, problem-solving, and patient care skills.
