    A MONROE, NC BASED MANUFACTURER OF INDUSTRIAL CONVEYING AND PACKAGING EQUIPMENT IS LOOKING FOR A PURCHASING MANAGER TO JOIN OUR TEAM!

    JOB SCOPE

    • Manage purchasing, shipping/receiving and inventory control personnel.
    • Provide key support for Production by assisting with job scheduling
    • Monitor budget and utilize operational resources, participate in safety program development.
    • Manage the selection, training and development of staff.

    PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

    • 3-5 years of success in a Purchasing Manager role
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills are a must.
    • Must be a fluent user of Microsoft Office applications and capable of learning new software applications and systems.
    • Extensive experience using accounting systems, ideally Sage
    • Highly refined negotiating skills
    • Critical and analytical thinking skills are an asset.
    • Excellent customer service
    • Ability to work with all types of suppliers and adapt to their style to ensure positive and mutually beneficial relationships
    • Highly organized
    • Ability to follow through in job responsibilities from end to end
    • Maintains collaborative relationships with Spiroflow suppliers

    DUTIES

    • Overall responsibility for maintaining a safe working environment, ensuring reports are safety trained, safety/regulatory documentation is maintained as required, leadership role on safety committee.
    • Responsible for daily management of purchasing department activities including adjusting task durations and schedules, analyzing potential scheduling issues, resource management.
    • Identify and develop solutions for purchasing related problems that may negatively impact safety, profitability, on time delivery, quality.
    • Continually monitor effectiveness of purchasing related processes and procedures. It is expected that the Purchasing Manager will continually search for improvements to safety, margin enhancement, productivity, collaboration, measurement and management of Key Performance Indicators.
    • Maintain inventory at agreed levels, continually search for ways to minimize stock volume
    • Monitor and approve weekly time sheets, overtime, Personal Time Off (PTO), etc. for all reports.
    • Monitor and manage overall spend on job buys, consumables, maintenance and any other company purchases.
    • Ensure all purchasing and inventory related processes, procedures and standards are followed and maintained
    • From time to time the manager will purchase job related items as specified in the Bill of Materials (“BOM”) received from the Engineering Department, spare parts inventory and stock inventory items
    • Determine what products require purchase and which can be pulled from stock
