Sponsor residential is an alternative to a group home. The sponsor opens up their home to one or two individuals with developmental disabilities. Sponsor provides an individual with the freedom to live in a caring atmosphere and participate in community activities and explore resources. It is for the individual looking to live in a family home and be care for by the sponsor. The setting is based on the individual’s needs and preference. For instance, what is the individual looking for? It may be being included in family gatherings or doing activities in their own space.

Sponsor provides the individual with support and training to attain independence in a supportive and caring setting. Sponsor is a twenty-four hour a day job. The sponsor is responsible for making sure the individual gets to doctor appointments and all their personal care is taken care of. There are state requirements required and the home must be up to code. To become a sponsor you will need to be vetted as will anyone living in the home. This means extensive background checks and inspections. Documentation is required on a daily basis and is turned into the company as if you were staff.

The income you make from providing this service is tax free and you do not need to file taxes on this income.

The individuals we are looking to serve would prefer to be in the Virginia Beach area, would need a downstairs bedroom, no pets and no children.
