Position Purpose
The Human Resources Associate ensures the efficient and smooth operational functioning of the Human Resources department by providing administrative support in multiple areas. This is a new, evolving position for a team player with excellent interpersonal skills, strong attention to detail, and an eagerness to learn. This position requires the ability to handle confidential or sensitive information and issues with a great degree of discretion, to have a high level of follow through on tasks to completion, and the ability to shift gears and reprioritize with changing demands.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist in the administration of health and welfare plans, including enrollments, qualifying events, and terminations. Process required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions. Reconcile benefits statements and invoices monthly.
Track necessary data and paperwork in accordance with Affordable Care Act guidelines, EEO-1 reports, and other census reports as needed. Run regular workforce, headcount, and recruiting metrics reports.
Assist in workers compensation, FMLA, STD/LTD, and OSHA administration, including the filing of claims, tracking employee documentation, and annual reporting.
Complete and respond to requests for information for unemployment benefit filings, and child support or other garnishments.
Serve as the first point of contact for employees, answering questions related to benefits, HR programs, onboarding, and general policy & procedures according to company guidelines.
Assist with new hire onboarding by providing orientation and benefits information to new employees, coordinating day one activities, and maintaining an adequate supply of new hire materials. Complete paperwork for any new states that we hire within and ensure tax accounts are set up with those states.
Coordinate all administrative activities necessary to exit an employee.
Assist with the recruitment and interview process as necessary.
Assist with accurately maintaining ADP WorkforceNow and other HR systems as needed; maintain personnel and medical files; complete weekly filing. Prepare and issue monthly birthday/anniversary list.
Complete Forms I-9, verify I-9 documentation, and maintain I-9 files.
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and laws.
Over time, serve as Support Team payroll backup: input data into ADP WorkforceNow regarding payroll, timekeeping, and personnel; prepare payroll and payroll reports; compile and distribute corresponding financial and benefit upload reports.

Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree required; either math, finance, science or human resources preferred.
CCP or CBC certifications preferred.
2 years of HR department experience.
Previous experience with ADP WorkforceNow preferred.
Strong teamwork skills and proven ability to partner across multiple functions within an organization with the aptitude to set and meet deadlines.
A proactive, high energy attitude geared towards achieving continuous improvement.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to effectively present information to internal and external Team Members.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
Knowledge of: administrative and clerical procedures; computers and relevant software applications; customer service principles and practices.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to handle and maintain confidential information.

Physical Demands: Position requires extended periods of sitting while on PC/laptop or phone, occasionally standing for periods of time, lifting up to 25 lbs., and walking.
