Title: Sprinkler Estimator
Location: Wilmington, DE
Hours: In-person
Compensation: $75K-$85K
Responsibilities:
- Receive Building Plans and Specs: Obtain plans from the Design team, General Contractor (GC), or Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
- Hazard Level Determination: Utilize in-depth knowledge to determine sprinkler density and coverage area.
- Site Assessment/Site-Walk: Assess water supply, ceiling heights, obstructions, and structural interference.
- High-Hazard Areas: Develop strategies for areas like kitchens and server rooms.
- Calculate Water Flow and Pressure: Perform necessary calculations and potentially conduct hydrant flow tests or other water source assessments.
- Design: Determine sprinkler spacing, pipe sizing, sprinkler types, and special requirements for height or concealed spaces. Coordinate with AHJ, Project Manager (PM), and Design team to adjust drawings as needed throughout project.
- Material Takeoff: Order parts (sprinklers, pipes, valves, hangers, risers, gauges) and ensure correct pipe lengths.
- Labor Hours and Manpower: Estimate labor hours and manpower needed for projects.
- Cost Estimation: Develop cost estimates for material, labor, and overhead
Qualifications:
- NICET II or III Certification: Required.
- Knowledge of NFPA 13: Essential.
- Design Software experience: AutoCAD, Revit, HydraCAD, AutoSprink, etc.
