    Position Overview:

    The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing general accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles, and supporting financial reporting and analysis. The person in this role will need to be a self-starter that can work through time-sensitive tasks with minimal direction. Have a competent understanding of financial statements including comfortability making adjusting journal entries. The company closes their books in about 12 days and is looking to bring this down closer to 7. This individual will help provide guidance to the AR/AP staff. The candidate will work closely with the Controller. Room for opportunity, growth, the ability to improve or change processes, and a Controller that will enable them.

    Primary Essential Job Duties:

    • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger
    • Oversee Sales Tax accruals and payments
    • Review cash activity and prepare daily bank reconciliations
    • Oversee Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes
    • Be a leader and foster sharing knowledge within the team.
    • Perform month-end closing
    • Oversee accounts payable and receivable.
    • Manage fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
    • Maintain detailed Balance Sheet reconciliation schedules such as Prepaid Expenses
    • Deferred Expense, Goodwill, Deposits, Commission Payable, Accrued Expense,
    • Deferred Revenue, Note Payable schedules
    • Prepare journal entries
    • Ability to assess which period(s) revenue and/or expense are to be recognized
    • Manage company credit cards and entries
    • Upkeep with Contractor License and Business License renewals
    • Other duties as assigned to complete job


    Required Skills and Abilities:

    • Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting.
    • Proven high attention to detail
    • Excellent communication, verbally and written
    • Proficient in Excel


    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
    • 2-4 years in a similar position


    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time
    • Ability to use computer for long periods of time
    • Ability to pass drug screen and background check
