    Senior Accountant – Riverside, CA

    Summary:

    The Senior Accountant position is the accounting focal responsible for providing financial support throughout the organization. This role is responsible for month end activity and support various general accounting duties.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Analyze, reconcile, and prepare month end closing entries, balance sheets, profit, and loss statements, consolidated financial statements, intercompany confirmations, and other formal financial reports.
    • Complete monthly financial and/or financial reporting narratives, schedules, and budgets.
    • Support monthly financial reporting of actual metrics and identify risks & opportunities, and research, understand and describe monthly variances.
    • Prepare and analyze expenses/spend, support of labor, overhead, capital, headcount, sales, and intercompany transactions, monitor actual versus budget variances monthly.
    • Assist with weekly cash forecasting, including 13-week cash forecasts and partner with FP&A as needed in relation to cash forecasting activity.
    • Perform advanced asset and liability account reconciliation for areas of responsibility.
    • Ensure that all bank activities are accounted for and posted accurately and timely.
    • Maintain and report capital expenditures (Property, Plant & Equipment) which includes all company leases (Financing and Operational Leases) to support financial reporting, management reporting, risk management, and government reporting.
    • Assist, collect and provide any external or internal audit requirements including support of internal
    • control monitoring and evaluations.
    • Implement improvements/automation for accounting and/or financial models and processes.
    • Maintain appropriate internal controls and internal control framework for areas of responsibility.
    • Support the disbursement process and AP team as needed.
    • Perform special projects and reporting to support the business as required.

    Qualifications (Education/Experience/Skills):

    • Thorough knowledge of U.S. General Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP), and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
    • Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures and concepts, for example, general ledger, balance sheets, and profit and loss statements.
    • Working knowledge of accounting systems, for example, MS Dynamics 365.
    • Working knowledge of database concepts including relational database principles.
    • Thorough knowledge of process improvement development.
    • 4 (+) years of accounting or financial analyst experience.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or closely related field.
    • CPA or MBA preferred.
    • Manufacturing experience a plus.

    Additional Qualities Necessary:

    • Working knowledge of company accounting policies.
    • Less than 10% travel.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate with all organizational levels.
    • Interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships
    • Presentation skills necessary for informal settings, for example, department management and local leadership.
