    Overview of Opportunity:

    Local Kansas City consulting firm is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Civil Engineer Project Manager who specializes in site development, land development, or municipal infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering with a proven track record of managing projects from conception to completion. This individual will lead a team of engineers and technicians, coordinate with clients and stakeholders, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage all aspects of civil engineering projects, including site development, land development, and municipal infrastructure projects. Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets. Monitor progress and ensure adherence to timelines and budget constraints.
    • Lead and mentor a team of engineers, technicians, and support staff. Delegate tasks effectively, provide guidance and support, and foster a collaborative work environment.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders. Communicate project updates, address concerns, and manage expectations to ensure client satisfaction.
    • Oversee the design and analysis of civil engineering projects. Review plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and project requirements.
    • Manage the permitting process and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Coordinate with regulatory agencies and obtain necessary approvals for project development.
    • Implement quality assurance processes to ensure that projects meet industry standards and client specifications. Conduct site inspections and audits to identify and address any issues or concerns.
    • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project delays and cost overruns. Proactively address challenges and obstacles to keep projects on track.
    • Manage procurement processes, including sourcing materials and subcontractors. Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors and subcontractors to ensure favorable terms and conditions.
    • Monitor project budgets and expenditures. Track costs, analyze variances, and implement cost-saving measures when necessary. Ensure projects are completed within budgetary constraints.
    • Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, drawings, change orders, and other relevant records. Prepare regular progress reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
    • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
    • Minimum of 8 years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on site development, land development, or municipal infrastructure projects.
    • Proven experience in project management, including planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
    • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor team members.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
    • Proficiency in engineering design software and tools.
    • Knowledge of relevant regulatory standards and codes.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
    • Experience with procurement processes and contract negotiations.

  • Compensation
    $120,000-$135,000 per year
