The Senior Director of Programs (SDP) serves to provide strategic leadership and oversight of all direct service programs at the Rescue Mission, ensuring they align with the organization’s mission, values, and strategic goals. They are responsible for the overall quality effectiveness, and impact of direct service programs including the Clinic, Shelters, Recovery, Case Management (Care Team), and Chaplaincy Services. They work closely with internal teams, community partners, and stakeholders to enhance program delivery, outcomes, and innovation.

Hours of Availability:
Full Time with Flexible availability to meet the needs of the business; includes holidays, nights and weekends as needed.
Compensation: $DOE (Exempt)

Qualifications & Requirements
Passion for the mission and vision of the Rescue Mission.
Master’s degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 7-10 years of leadership experience in human services, homeless services, addiction recovery, or related fields.
Proven ability to lead teams, develop programs, and implement strategic initiatives.
Strong understanding of trauma-informed care, case management best practices, and service delivery models.
Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
Experience working with diverse populations and fostering inclusive environments.
Proficiency in program evaluation, data-driven decision-making, and outcome measurement.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to social services and nonprofit management.
Primarily office-based with regular site visits to program locations.
Occasional evening and weekend work required for meetings and events.
Ability to travel as needed for community engagement and professional development.

Develop and implement a strategic vision for direct service programs, ensuring they meet community needs and align with the Mission’s goals.
Provide oversight, support, and direction for program leaders to ensure high-quality service delivery and continuous improvement.
Utilize data and best practices to assess program impact, drive innovation, and enhance effectiveness.
Ensure program compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and best practices.
Team Development & Supervision
Lead, mentor, and support program directors and managers, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and professional growth.
Establish clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback and development opportunities.
Promote a work environment that upholds the Rescue Mission’s values and commitment to serving those in need.
Collaboration & Community Engagement
Serve as a key liaison with community partners, government agencies, faith-based organizations, and other stakeholders to enhance services and resources.
Advocate for the needs of those served by the Mission and collaborate on regional solutions to homelessness, addiction recovery, and related issues.
Represent the Rescue Mission at community meetings, conferences, and events as needed.
Operational & Financial Management
Oversee program budgets, ensuring responsible stewardship of resources and alignment with organizational priorities.
Identify funding opportunities, including grants and partnerships, to expand program impact.
Work with the Finance team to monitor expenditures, ensuring financial sustainability of services.
