This position will provide DCS support and engineering services in electrical, instrumentation, and controls as necessary to provide for safe operations, regulatory compliance, and maximum availability of production units and/or infrastructure and utility systems.
- Support and closely cooperate with the Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls Engineering (EI&C) Manager to ensure safe operating conditions and regulatory compliance of production units.
- Participate in the commissioning of new and modified production units.
- Responsible for design, development, and implementation of new control loops.
- Support the maintenance team in the execution of ITPM and maintenance, repair, and operation (MRO) activities as required.
- Become an expert capable of exercising EI&C engineering judgment concerning the process areas of responsibility and assigned subject matters.
- Conduct or coordinate troubleshooting activities.
- Drive and support continuous improvement activities related to safety, quality, and cost.
- Cooperate with groups and individuals within the Engineering and Maintenance departments, Operations, and other service units.
- Keep documentation and equipment records up to date.
- As needed, coordinate 3rd party providers for engineering and maintenance services.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Instrumentation, Automation or Controls Engineering) or Chemical Engineering
- 3+ years of professional experience in the field of EI&C plant engineering or maintenance
- Preferred knowledge of the following: Delta V, PI Databook, SAP EAM, and functional safety
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures for Control Loop design and optimization (ISA)
- Thorough technical knowledge of instrumentation, networking, and DCS and SIS automation and controls including relevant regulations, standards, and codes.
- Ability to troubleshoot system and process problems in collaboration with Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations
- Strong multitasking competency
- Ability to perform and succeed in an environment of schedule and cost pressure
