What You Get to Do:
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to develop accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial and industrial electrical projects.
- Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and drawings to determine material, labor, and time requirements.
- Use advanced estimating software and tools to prepare comprehensive bids and proposals.
- Source and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes to ensure the most competitive pricing and quality.
- Provide strategic input during pre-construction meetings to ensure projects are set up for success.
- Continuously monitor industry trends, material costs, and labor rates to maintain accurate and competitive estimates.
- Support business development efforts by preparing estimates for prospective projects and collaborating with the sales team.
What You’ve Already Done:
- Gained hands-on experience as an electrical estimator, ideally with commercial and industrial projects.
- Developed a solid understanding of electrical systems, construction practices, and cost analysis.
- Proven your ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with exceptional attention to detail.
- Built strong relationships with suppliers and clients through effective communication and negotiation.
- Mastered estimating software such as Accubid, ConEst, or similar tools, and have a strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
