    Job Description

    The Sr. Manager, Strategic Initiatives Portfolio is responsible for driving excellence in delivery of the strategic Initiatives portfolio through leading, coaching and supporting a group of program and project leaders across multiple lines of business. This position requires significant interaction with cross-functional departments within all levels of the organization from executive leaders, functional leaders, teams and vendor partners. They take a direct and hands-on approach to ensuring each strategic initiative delivers within scope, quality, schedule, and budget constraints. They are an evangelist for delivering with a high degree of excellence through leveraging standard delivery frameworks, tools and behaviors. They resource program and project managers, drive performance and provides active coaching.

    • Accountable to ensure end-to-end delivery of the strategic initiatives within their assigned portfolio, including ensuring scope, cost, schedule resources, scope, quality, and risk are progressing as planned
    • Evangelizes, coaches and teaches proven delivery practices including frameworks, tools and behaviors
    • Ensures dependencies of multiple related programs and projects are known and managed
    • Supports team by removing barriers, escalating risks and issues, building consensus, and driving decisions
    • Owns portfolio governance including portfolio status, financial management and reviews and executive alignment.
    • Drives portfolio evaluation through ensuring scoping, estimating, resource demand planning and road mapping are defined
    • Recruits, motivates, leads and develops a superior team of professionals who can lead enterprise level initiatives through internal and external pipelines
    • Provides clear, consistent leadership, management and mentoring for direct reports and the broader delivery organization. Inspires, empowers and motivates the organization, leading by example
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • B.S. or equivalent degree in Business Management, Business Administration, or related field
    • 10+ years’ progressive delivery offices, program management offices, or management consulting practice with a minimum of 5+ years in an established leadership role overseeing large-scale enterprise initiatives
    • 3+ years’ experience successfully managing, leading, and developing a team of program and project management professionals
    • PMP, Agile, or other relevant certifications highly preferred
    • Advanced Microsoft Office Skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, OneNote, PowerPoint, Teams)
    • Experience with portfolio management tools such as Smartsheet & Jira
    • Extensive In-depth understanding of multiple delivery methodologies including but not limited to waterfall, agile, and Lean
    • Comprehensive knowledge and progressive experience managing enterprise programs and projects, managing a group of programs and projects, managing project portfolios, and establishing processes for governance & control frameworks
    • Exceptional experience in resource capacity planning, budgeting, and financial management. Strong planning and organizational skills
    • Very strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact professionally and build relationships with a diverse group of executives, managers, vendors, and subject matter experts
    • Deep quantitative and analytical abilities with a clear understanding of the business, excellent problem-solving skills, and sound judgment
    • Established people leader with a proven track record in organizational management and rapid organizational growth

    • Ability to present complex ideas and influence stakeholders and partners at all levels
