We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Technology Platform Manager to lead multiple technical projects in support of the restaurant technology platforms in the US McDonald’s market. This role oversees our system platform for restaurant servers and devices to support our critical restaurant applications. This role will also be involved in how we manage the provisioning, re-imaging and OS platform/software for emerging technology that McDonald’s is currently deploying in the US market. The role plays a critical piece in leading the team that is developing the device scripts, drivers, VM’s and new technology platform initiatives that are needed to run our restaurants efficiently.

The Sr. Platform Manager is also a people leader and is the owner of implementation decisions for the products. The ideal candidate will be results and measurement driven, an exceptional communicator, and exhibit collaboration and influencing skills that cultivate a collaborative and continuous improvement environment.

Key partners include US Owner Operators, Operations Technology Professionals (“OTPs”), internal business areas such as Operations, Global Technology, Legal, and many others. Close partnership and active management of strategic technology vendors is critical to success.

This position provides the opportunity to establish relationships with a variety of McDonald’s product owners, suppliers, and franchisees. The team operates in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities that’ll be good for those that are quick to adapt while looking to experience various technologies.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

• Lead delivery and development of products to stabilize and support our restaurant platform applications.
• Work with cross-functional teams throughout the life of the project to ensure alignment with global teams from development, deployment, and support.
• Leading development squads/vendor teams in evolution and testing of restaurant platform solutions and updates (windows images, scripts, drivers). Including prioritization, backlog management and status updates to internal and external collaborators.
• Building out, maintaining, and prioritizing/grooming user stories, roadmaps, and aligning across US and Global stakeholders
• Develop and maintain a 3-year roadmap for Restaurant Platform initiatives, work with global and US teams to communicate, align and plan.
• Support a critical transformation effort to modernize McDonald’s Global Restaurant platform working with Global Technology and third-party vendors
• Become a SME in our Restaurant Technology Architecture and be the voice of the market when working with global and other US teams.
• Visit McDonald’s restaurants to gather feedback from crew, OTP’s and operators and rethink approaches to improve guest and crew experience with new technology.
• Support and assist in daily meetings and technical projects across the organization.
• Understand McDonalds business requirements to help produce quality outcomes and adapt to new challenges as they arise.
• Work closely with peer solution readiness managers and product owners across all channels and capabilities to prioritize initiatives, find opportunities for collaboration, and coordinate product development and delivery
• Research new technologies and build out roadmaps to support the US business.

The expected salary range for this role is $149,260- $190,310 ** __** per year

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant professional work experience in technology related field

• 3+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager or Product Manager eliciting/defining requirements, designing systems solutions, and leading business and technical requirements

• 1+ years of experience with agile development methodologies

• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to understand business requirements to translate to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Experience developing solutions that provide high levels of resilience and scale

• Proactive, self-motivated, and accountable teammate

• Experience collaborating with team members in a large global matrix org structure

• Understanding of software development principles and background, specifically around SDLC process, prioritization process, intake, backlog management and well versed in project management practices.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, often changing, and sometimes ambiguous environment

• Experience working in McDonald's restaurants or equivalent QSRs

• Desire to work in a fast-paced, often changing, and sometimes ambiguous environment

• Ability to balance multiple priorities optimally

• Bachelors Degree in a technical subject area is highly desired

• Technical background, including an understanding of Microsoft Windows Server, Hyper-V, IoT devices, containers, cloud platforms, and system architecture is highly desired.
