Responsibilities:
We are seeking a senior engineer to own software architecture and development of software-defined networking services and tools for critical missions. You will help lead the delivery of high stakes, high profile, complex systems while strengthening our engineering and program-specific capabilities across the company.
As a Senior Software Engineer focused on supporting a critical global network, you will architect, manage, and secure network infrastructure across on-prem, remote, and mesh environments. You will be responsible for logical network designs, implementation, and management to transport data reliably, efficiently, and securely. You will write software that either directly implements or manages network routing and tunneling capabilities; knowledge of Linux networking stack is essential. You will be also responsible for crisis planning and designing/testing disaster recovery processes to protect data and systems from attacks/threats or loss of fidelity.
Please note this role is NOT just management of physical networking devices. You will be writing and maintaining software in addition to building physical multi-modal network architectures.
Requirements:
• Strong engineering background from industry or school, ideally in fields such as Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Mathematics.
• Deep experience with architecting and securing networks in highly visible contexts. Highly knowledgeable and has been hands-on with networking protocols and technologies, including:
o VPNs
o Tunneling
o Secure communication protocols - IPSec / MACSec
o Software-Defined Networking / SD-WANs
o Internet protocols - TCP/IP, DNS, etc.
o Routing protocols (small and large scale - e.g. mesh routing as well as internet-scale routing across autonomous systems)
• Ability to write code. You will be hands-on, building systems alongside other software engineers. You will also be a technical leader on the team (with or without management responsibilities) and must be capable of reviewing, critiquing, and mentoring software written by other engineers.
• A desire to work on critical mission software that has a real-world impact.
• Must have an active United States Secret security clearance.
Salary Range:
$170,000 - $250,000 USD
