    The Talent Mine is seeking a Sr. Palo Alto Engineer with architectural skills. You’ll be working for one of the most admired companies in the Fortune 500 and is THE largest recycler of any product in the Western Hemisphere.     Overview:

    This position will work as part of a team to manage and design deployment of Next Generation Palo Alto Firewalls. This position will work with teams across nearly 400 locations where firewalls are deployed. All members of the security team participate in incident response and on-call rotation providing coverage after hours and on weekends. Some travel as needed.

    This is a full-time position in Charlotte, NC or Irving, TX with a hybrid schedule of 3 days in the office, 2 days remote. Re-location assistance is available!

    $ COMPENSATION NOTES:

    TOTAL COMP for this position is $170,000- $200,000 broken down as follows:

    • Base salary of $130 - 145K (Based on experience)
    • The average annual bonus has been 31% over the past 8 years + added 401K match
    • You also receive a $4,000 educational credit for yourself
    • You also receive additional $2,000 educational credits for your spouse and EACH child!!

    The most qualified candidates will have most of the following:

    • 8+ years experience with Firewalls (at least 5 years with Palo Alto)
    • Ability to do approximately 50% Engineering Design/Architecture, 50% Firewall Management
    • Ability to provide the highest point of escalation
    • Working knowledge of Next Generation Firewall technologies, including expertise with TPC/IP protocols, WAN and internet technologies
    • Communication: The ability to give full attention to what others are saying and communicating information so that others will clearly understand.
    • Teamwork: Working as a positive part of a coordinated effort as an individual and within a team environment on security initiatives to accomplish objectives.
    • Initiative: Being proactive working within the team and partnering with other teams. Willingness to take on additional responsibilities and challenges. Ability to be a constant learner.
    • Attention to Detail: Thorough in organizing and accomplishing complex tasks and tracking and reporting on activities as part of large-scale projects.

    Bonuses:

    • Have worked for Palo Alto Networks OR a Provider of Palo Alto Networks (like Highpoint)
    • Has been a lead engineer/service provider within a large company, dealing with firewalls
    • Experience with threat protection concepts, IDS/IDP concepts, and URL filtering tools
    • Knowledge of common cyber threats, attack methods, defense practices, and interest in continuously learning in these areas.
    • Knowledge of enterprise security strategies and governance experience with security frameworks and regulatory compliances from NIST, CIS, CTPAT
