    Our client is seeking a Sr Project Controls Engineer to join their team! This is a direct hire position with a competitive salary of $120K+ (DOE). As a Project Controls Engineer, you will be at the forefront of driving efficiency and innovation, designing, installing, maintaining, and optimizing site process automation systems. You’ll serve as a critical technical resource in advancing plant performance, ensuring improvements in capacity, cost, quality, and environmental sustainability through process control techniques.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Design and Development: Create industrial control system solutions including Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), and Human-Machine Interface (HMI) programs to address operational needs.
    • Automation Optimization: Lead efforts to enhance plant controls, improving cost-effectiveness, production capacity, and plant performance.
    • Cybersecurity & Compliance: Ensure security for Operational Technology (OT) devices, and support the implementation of secure automation solutions.
    • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements that result in higher throughput, improved efficiency, cost savings, and better product quality.
    • Collaboration & Leadership: Work closely with operations, engineering teams, and external contractors, providing guidance on troubleshooting, upgrades, and new projects.
    • Project Management: Oversee DCS/PLC equipment installation, commissioning, and maintenance for capital or maintenance projects.
    • Safety & Compliance: Provide support for process safety, including Process Hazard Assessments (PHA) and Management of Change (MOC).

    Qualifications:

    Education & Experience:

    • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Computer, Chemical) or related technical discipline.
    • Preferred: 3+ years of process control experience in industrial environments, with direct or indirect leadership experience.

    Skills & Competencies:

    • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of industrial control systems, including DCS, PLC, and HMI systems. Experience with DeltaV, Allen Bradley, and PI systems is desirable.
    • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex data and develop effective solutions.
    • Collaboration: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally to meet organizational goals.
    • Project Management: Ability to plan and prioritize projects, ensuring they meet quality, cost, and schedule objectives.
    • Continuous Improvement: Proven track record of identifying and implementing process improvements.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 5+ years of experience in the design, commissioning, and maintenance of DCS-based control systems in a 24/7 manufacturing setting.
    • Expertise in Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and SIL-rated systems within a Process Safety Management (PSM) facility.
    • Hands-on troubleshooting experience with instrumentation and control systems.
    • Familiarity with leading DCS and PLC platforms (DeltaV, Siemens PCS7, Honeywell Experion, Rockwell Guard Logix).
  • Compensation
    $115,000 per year
