    Job Description

    Summary

    The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading 1 Enterprise project or 2-3 medium to large projects concurrently. They are accountable for end-to-end delivery - managing budget, schedule, dependencies, resources, scope, quality and risk. The Senior Project Manager establishes a delivery operating model to ensure the project delivers with a high degree of efficiency and controls. They have strong skills in conflict resolution, negotiation, influencing, facilitation and communication. The Senior Project Manager has the ability to run projects that involve a significant number of stakeholder groups, a variety of business and technology processes, and complex business and technology efforts. This role is highly cross-functional working across the Pilot organization.

    Essential Functions

    • Facilitate project chartering, drive alignment and manage expectations
    • Define, baseline, maintain and communicate a project schedule
    • Create and manage holistic cost estimates and budgets, and track and report on actuals on a defined cadence
    • Proactively drive the identification and assessment of risks. Drive responses to risks and ensure risk mitigation and closure.
    • Support teams to resolve issues with urgency and quality
    • Develop and execute an effective change control process
    • Establish a project governance structure appropriate for project size
    • Teach, advocate and coach others on the use and benefit of project management competencies and skillsets
    • Optimize the project framework and tools by providing continuous improvement
    • Ensure readiness, sustainability and business realization metrics are in place
    • Have a defined resource plan and make certain that roles and responsibilities are clear and understood
    • Manage vendor and third party partners
    • Ensure project status updates are clear, concise, timely and accurate
    • Facilitate and lead effective meetings; create and deliver presentations for project teams, stakeholders and executives
    • Perform conflict resolution and negotiation in a professional manner
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in business management, business administration, project management or related field
    • 5-10 years in progressive project management experience in large, more complex initiatives in large highly-matrixed organization or through project management consulting practices
    • Sound experience in delivery of people, process and/or tool initiatives leveraging multiple delivery practices and tools
    • PMP and Agile certifications highly preferred

    Specialized Knowledge

    • Advanced Microsoft Office Skills (Visio, Excel, Word, Outlook, OneNote, PowerPoint, Teams)
    • Working knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) management
    • Strong understanding and experience with multiple project and software delivery frameworks and methodologies including but not limited to waterfall, scrum and kanban
    • Experience with portfolio and project management tools such as Jira and Smartsheet

    • Corporate office in Knoxville, TN unless otherwise agreed to

    Travel

    • Travel required less than 5%

    $96,500-$96,500 per year
